Children require special accessories
As already discussed, hearing instruments for children fulfil special requirements.
The accessories for these instruments also have special requirements.
A few examples of accessories for children's hearing instruments are described here:
-
Earhooks need to be made for children's small ears, so that they fit especially well.
-
Battery compartments are made with special attention given to safety! Battery compartments lock making it nearly impossible for children to remove batteries.
-
Audio shoes enable the connection of the hearing instrument to school audio and
FM-systems.
In this way, children with hearing instrument are helped in especially noisy surroundings.
When purchasing a hearing instrument care must be taken that it is compatible with conventional FM systems.
-
HearBear™ helps young children from lossing their BTE instruments.
The kid g-ear™ set offers a cuddly teddy-bear clip, called HearBear. Rubber loops, connected to elastic strings,
are placed over their top of the BTE(s). The strings are connected to the HearBear and clipped to the child's clothing.
