Ear & Hearing
Pleasant chords ring from a jazz guitar on a quiet night. High
piercing shrills wail from sirens rousing you from a deep sleep. Sounds are
all around you. Some are soft and pleasant; others are loud and
disagreeable. Think of all the sounds that you can think of. Have you ever
wondered how these sounds are processed by your human bio-computer and which organs
are used?
The Ears
|
You have two ears. Your ears help you to hear. One ear working by itself could
not do this very well. Your brain needs to compare and contrast loudness, pitch and timing of sounds from two ears to make sense of
them!
The Parts of the Ear
Each of your ears has three parts. They are:
- The outer ear
- The middle ear
- The inner ear
