Hungary - A personal experience with ACURIS Life

My audiogram of my left ear shows a typical curve for elderly people – a loss of 15 dB from 125 Hz to 2 kHz and a decrease to 70 dB at 4 kHz keeping the value up to 8 kHz. My right ear unfortunately does not function at all. Fitting patients with similar audiograms with an ITE was always a compromise. I told them, on the one hand you will understand speech much better but on the other hand you will experience occlusion and enhancement of your own voice. This is pure physics. I experienced this problem myself for years wearing different in-the-ear instruments.

Now the situation has changed. ACURIS Life gave me complete relief to disturbing occlusion from the first moment! After quick and easy fitting my life was really changed. The wearing comfort is superb, no occlusion, a normal own voice made me forget that I wear a hearing instrument at all. I use the hearing instrument 12 hours a day and the battery lasts 3 weeks. Even with such a tiny instrument my speech understanding is excellent.
In short: the new ACURIS Life gives me full satisfaction and I want to share this experience with all the people having a similar audiogram!
