Approximately three of every 1,000 newborns are affected by hearing loss, much more frequently than many people imagine. PRISMA 2 K is the first hearing system especially developed for babies.

PRISMA 2 K can be fit to your infant immediately after confirmation of the diagnosis. It is particularly small and light to make wearing the hearing instruments as comfortable as possible for your baby. As a result, the ear mould remains securely in the auditory canal. The chance of acoustic feedback (whistling) is reduced. The baby's pinna retains its natural shape.

Perfect hearing comfort for the baby

Babies and their parents can rely on the PRISMA 2 K in every situation. It is gentle and safe for baby's ear, and fully automatic. For example, if the ear mould slips out of place, whistling can be present. To avoid this, PRISMA 2 K has two adaptive feedback filters which are activated to filter out whistling.

The speech-sensitive signal processing provided by PRISMA 2 K reduces noise and assures that speech is audible wherever possible. The processing can be adjusted to be appropriate for the infant's environment by your audiologist.

Protection against whistling and noise

PRISMA 2 K is equipped with a delayed activation function to prevent feedback that can occur while positioning the instrument on the ear. In this case, the device automatically activates 12 seconds after the battery case is closed - a Siemens innovation.

PRISMA 2 K also has various mechanisms to limit output levels and protect your baby from loud noises. Using modern digital technology, all tones that are louder than pre-set levels are limited. In addition, specialised technology in the PRISMA 2 K keeps internal noise to a minimum.

The safe solution for babies

Many operating elements on adult hearing instruments are unnecessary for children. For this reason, PRISMA 2 K is only equipped with a volume control that enables the volume to be changed as required. This can be useful, for example, in cases of middle ear infection or fluctuating hearing loss, where it is necessary to adjust the volume at different times. However, the volume control should be used only in consultation with the baby's audiologist. For your baby's safety, the control is covered. The volume range can be digitally programmed or switched off entirely by the audiologist.

Pleasant colours

Choice of colours can be important. PRISMA 2 K is available in red or red with Mouse and Elephant cartoon characters.  The right hearing instrument has the Mouse figure and the left has the blue elephant to distinguish the different sides. Other colours available include beige, grey, and dark brown.

The device grows with your child

Digital technology not only saves space, but also enables the hearing instruments to be reprogrammed quickly and easily. As a result, they can be adapted to changing hearing situations and your child's developing hearing skills. PRISMA 2 K grows with the individual requirements of the child.
